Ask Myna ("we") answers business phone calls with an AI receptionist and sends the business a summary of each call. This page says what we collect, why, and for how long.
Who we handle data for
Our customers are businesses that forward their calls to Ask Myna. When you call such a business, the business decides what Myna asks you; we process the call on its behalf. When you sign up as a business, we handle your account data as described below.
Callers
- What we collect: your phone number, the audio of the call while it is in progress, a text transcript, and any details you choose to give (for example your name or a callback request).
- Why: to answer your call, pass your request to the business, and let the business review what was said.
- Disclosure: every call opens by saying it is a computer assistant. The business may enable call recording; where it does, the recording is kept with the transcript.
- Retention: transcripts and recordings are kept for 30 days, then erased. Enquiry details stay with the business for as long as it keeps them. Any call's details are erased within one working day on request to us or to the business.
Business accounts
- What we collect: your business name, contact name, e-mail, mobile number, the description you give Myna, your phone number settings, and billing details.
- Sign-in: you can sign in with a one-time code sent to your mobile, with a workspace key, or with Google or Apple. With Google or Apple we receive only your e-mail address and name, and use them to recognise your account. We never see your password.
- Why: to run your receptionist, send you call summaries on WhatsApp or e-mail, invoice you, and support you.
Services we use
Calls are carried by a licensed Indian telephony provider. Speech recognition, speech synthesis and the language model that composes Myna's replies are provided by cloud AI providers (such as Sarvam, Google, OpenAI and ElevenLabs), which receive the audio or text of the call to perform that step and are contractually bound not to use it for other purposes. WhatsApp messages go through Meta's WhatsApp Business platform, e-mail through Microsoft, and payments through Razorpay. Our servers and database are hosted in India.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use call content to advertise to you. We do not train our own models on your calls.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, or withdraw consent, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within seven days. This policy follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new date. Material changes are also e-mailed to business accounts.
